Mission

The Country Development Working Group produces initiatives to help in the development of gliding in countries with emerging soaring movements.

Our aim is to look at the sport of soaring on a global basis while assisting in development efforts on a country level.

The group, which was created after the decision of the 2008 Plenary Session of the IGC, focuses its work on three main areas:
  • To create a framework for development of emerging soaring movements
  • To promote the enhancement of gliding infrastructure around the world
  • To encourage mobility of glider pilots across countries and promote gliding tourism
The current members of the group are:
